The Puppets on Wheels Program takes original, innovative, and interactive plays with puppets right into the community. Last year alone the Icarus Puppet Company Puppets on Wheels program did 55 plays for over 60,000 children. Fun plays celebrate the individual and explore universal values like . . . keeping your word . . . respecting your heritage . . . being kind to others . . . and other important life lessons. All good stuff kids rarely see on Saturday morning! You won’t see any guns, knives, or exploding space stations in our plays!

What you will find is original music, dance, handcrafted puppets, professional actors, masks, singing, full-scale sets, costumes, and good storytelling. It’s much more theatrical than most people expect! But with Icarus Puppet Company you can expect the unexpected.

But wait, there’s more! You will also be supporting the Hands-on/Hands-in Learning Academy, a vast array of classes, workshops, and educational encounters. Children in Icarus Puppet Company programs explore creativity hands-on! They make puppets, express themselves, and see the world in new ways. At a time when arts-in-education is struggling for survival, this program plays a vital role in the lives of young people.
